Hearing on Clear Creek National Recreation Area & Conservation Act – UPDATE

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

BRC wants to commend Congressman Sam Farr, Steve Koretoff and the AMA for their testimony in support of legislation to designate certain lands in Central California as the Clear Creek National Recreation Area and Conservation Act, H.R. 1776. Congressmen David Valadao and Jeff Denham joined Congressman Sam Farr as original cosponsors of this legislation.

Unfortunately, Congressman Sam Farr is ranking member on another committee and was unable give his verbal testimony in person, but he has posted it on his website.

Legislative Hearing on H.R. 1776, H.R. 2175, H.R. 2489, and H.R. 3806 - House Committee on Natural Resources

AMA - 1:01:07 to 1:08:15 - BLM - 1:21:45 to 1:34:52 - Steve Koretoff - 1:34:52 to 1:55:07

Senator Wayne Allard (AMA) and Steve Koretoff (Friends of the Clear Creek Management Area) did an excellent job of explaining why Congress should reopen the area to OHV and other uses.

In 2002, Dirt Rider Magazine listed Clear Creek as one of the top 10 OHV recreation sites in the country. It is located mostly in southern San Benito County in the Coastal Mountain Range that separates the Salinas Valley from the Central Valley. H.R. 1776 will reopen this 75,000 acre unit to OHV use.

Thanks for your continued support of this legislation.

As always, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
